Dental Hygiene If I Had Known Then What I Know Now .

Hello all you wonderful people out there. Have you ever thought, If I had known then what I know now . or If I had my life to live over again I would change ... Actually there is not too much I, personally would have done differently. But there is definitely one health related subject I would like to have known more about and adhered to: early childhood hygiene practices. I had problems with my teeth from the minute go. I had to have fillings, root canal work, tooth extractions. You name it, I had it. Even eating all those taffy apples and other candy especially at Halloween would have been alright if only I had known about and practiced proper and I mean proper gum and health hygiene. Call it hindsight. Ironically, at this stage in my life I frantically take care of the few teeth I can still call my own. I brush my teeth and gums as soon as I get up in the morning and after every meal. I use mouthwash regularly. I go for biannual dental checkups. I make it a point to get to a...

Developing An Attitude Of Gratitude

What does Gratitude really mean. Most of us are thankful for the blessings we have in our lives. We have families we love, jobs that help us provide the necessities of daily living, good health, friends to laugh and play with, freedom and Free Will to live our lives the way we want to. Most of us are very grateful for these blessings, but how often do we stop to focus and reflect on that. Probably not as often as we should. Why is Gratitude even important. Sure, we re thankful for what we have, but why should we have to dwell on it. There is a very good reason. Have you ever given someone a gift, and when they open it they react with very little enthusiasm. They say flatly, Oh yeah, thanks, I ve been wanting one of those. Their words say thank you but their heart says, big deal . You can feel that, can t you. Does it inspire you to want to give them another gift. Probably not. , doesn t that lift your heart. You feel appreciated, and happy that you made them feel appreciated. The one...

Buying Guide For Cheerleader Uniforms

Every 4 years, the alumni board of the high school where Mrs. Jenson came from elects a batch of officers. Having worked in civic projects in the past, the members voted this woman to be its president. The school had a heritage of winning the all state cheerleading computation for as long as anyone can remember. Given that the uniforms are one of the things judges look at, Mrs. Jenson decided to improve on it as one of the priority programs for the coming school year. There was just one problem. Jenson didnt know where to begin. Luckily, two members of the alumni were part of the cheerleading team in high school and were willing to help out make this plan come to life. There are many types of cheerleading uniforms. The tops of some are long sleeved while others are sleeveless. Some schools prefer to wear skirts for better movement than the pants. Jenson did was talk with the members of the cheerleading team. The insights given as well as the styles used in the past were compared...

Presentation Skills: Knowing Your Audience

Colleen Kettenhofen To improve presentation skills, allow plenty of time, if at all possible, to find out exactly who will be in your audience. Consider obtaining some of their names, phone numbers and email addresses so you can do a survey or interview to find out more about their needs, challenges and expectations before the day you present. Are they colleagues or clients you ve personally invited. What will be the attitude of your participants. In other words, do they want to be there or is attendance mandatory. Are you going to be presenting any bad news or information they may not want to hear. In my seminars, people often tell me that two of their biggest presentation skills challenges are how to handle a hostile audience, and how to present bad news. If you start by knowing who will be in attendance, what their expectations are, as well as their objections, you can then begin to prepare your presentation. Other than rehearsing, nothing will improve presentation skills more...
